The Seattle Symphony commissioned or co-commissioned nine (NINE!) new works this season—one of those was the premiere of Mason Bates’ Cello Concerto with Joshua Roman last month here at Benaroya Hall.

Other upcoming premieres of Seattle Symphony commissions include the U.S. premiere of Yugo Kanno’s Revive, a Concerto for Koto and Shakuhachi, at Celebrate Asia on March 1st; and the world premiere of Sebastian Currier’s Divisions on April 23 & 25.

And if you love contemporary music, our [untitled] series continues on February 13th and May 1st (featuring a world premiere by Trimpin!).
