The Brass: Ferdinand the Bull

Tiny Tots >

Due to inclement weather, "The Brass: Ferdinand the Bull" performances originally scheduled for Saturday, February 9, have been rescheduled to Saturday, March 2. Tickets for the original shows will be honored on the new date.

Stop and smell the flowers with Ferdinand the Bull and his friends, the brass section! The French horn, trumpet, trombone and tuba will teach us how music, like Ferdinand, can be fast or slow and loud or soft. Tiny Tots Concerts are designed for ages 0 to 5. EXTEND YOUR EXPERIENCE: Join us 30-minutes before the performance for fun and interactive pre-concert activities that include an instrument zoo, a percussion play area and a fun craft in the Samuel & Althea Stroum Grand Lobby.

Joshua Bell Mendelssohn Violin Concerto

Masterworks Series >

When Joshua Bell pours his heart through his fingers and into his Stradivarius, every note feels like a private confession from him to you. He applies that poetic touch to the timeless elegance of Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto, an understated masterpiece that demands total transparency and vulnerability from the soloist and orchestra alike. The Man with the Violin

Family Concerts >

Violinist Joshua Bell brings his own true story to life for children and adults alike in this special Family Concert, based on the children’s book The Man with the Violin by Kathy Stinson. Inspired by the time Bell famously took his instrument into the Washington, DC subway for a free concert — where only seven out of thousands of commuters stopped to listen — he recreates the heartwarming story that reminds us all to stop and appreciate the beauty around us.
