Can pigs really fly? Come find out with Seattle Symphony musicians at the April Sensory Friendly Concerts! This concert will feature a violin duo as they attempt to answer this age old question through music. Designed specifically for families with children ages 5-8 on the Autism Spectrum and sensory sensitivities, this concert includes instrument exploration before or after the show, a meet-and-greet with the featured musicians, and a 35-minute performance hosted by board-certified music therapist Michael Thomas.

Pop-Up Magazine works with Oscar-winning filmmakers, New York Times bestselling authors, popular radio and podcast voices, and internationally known artists to perform thrilling stories at large theaters across the nation. This unique, collaborative edition of Pop-Up Magazine is being produced specifically for fans who share National Geographic’s legendary fascination with the world around us. It will feature a mix of multimedia stories from Pop-Up Magazine and National Geographic contributors accompanied by an original live score performed by Magik*Magik Orchestra.

Angélique Kidjo's REMAIN IN LIGHT

Critically acclaimed, three-time Grammy Award winner Angélique Kidjo is one of the greatest artists in international music today. In her latest project, Kidjo reimagines The Talking Heads’ classic album, Remain in Light. Released in 1980, Remain in Light was a revolution of pop music innovation, pushing sonic boundaries with sampled and looped grooves inspired by legendary Nigerian Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti. Kidjo, who is herself from Benin, explains: “As Remain in Light was influenced by the music of my continent, I want to pay back the homage and create my own African take on Talking Heads’ songs." The album demonstrates that both the Talking Heads and producer Brian Eno experimented with African polyrhythms while simultaneously drawing lyrical inspiration from African academic literature.
