The safety of our audience, staff and musicians is of the utmost importance to us. We have evaluated every element of the patron experience and adjusted the Hall’s spaces and procedures to maximize the safety of our audience members. Some of the changes you will notice, such as a low- to no-touch concert experience, social distanced seating and health screening measures, and some changes you can’t see, like enhanced double-filtration air cleaning and rigorous disinfection protocols. Our top priority is to keep you safe while the world around us slowly returns to normal.
Throughout the rest of the season, we’ll be hosting small audiences inside Benaroya Hall’s S. Mark Taper Foundation Auditorium. The total in-person attendance will be less than 25% capacity and will begin with current 2020–2021 season subscribers and donors. We will announce audience capacity changes as they happen.
We recognize that, even with safety measures, some of you may not feel comfortable attending in person, and we are committed to bringing live music to you, wherever you are, through the Seattle Symphony's streaming service, Seattle Symphony Live.
By entering Benaroya Hall, you agree to comply with the health and safety policies set forth by the Seattle Symphony and Benaroya Hall, which include, but are not limited to:
Masks are required to be worn at all times while in the building.
Temperature check is required upon entering Benaroya Hall.
Physical distancing of a minimum of 6 ft is to be maintained at all times while in the building.
Occupancy limits will be observed and maintained where posted. Upon arrival, you will be asked to form a physically distanced line outside the entrance. An usher will let you know when it’s your turn to go into the auditorium.
Don't forget your tickets. Before leaving home, make sure you have your mailed ticket, print-at-home ticket, or e-ticket available on your mobile device. Tickets are no longer being held at will call or the welcome desk.
The coat check is closed until further notice. Please plan to leave your coat in your vehicle or take it with you into the auditorium.
Small bags and purses are allowed, but please note that the bag check station is closed until further notice. Large bags and backpacks will not be permitted.
By entering Benaroya Hall, you and the members of your group voluntarily assume the risks of contracting COVID-19 and agree to release, waive, discharge and covenant not to sue Seattle Symphony Orchestra or Benaroya Hall Music Center (including their boards of directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents and the City of Seattle), and hold these entities and persons harmless from liability regarding any and all claims relating to COVID-19 and indirectly or directly arising out of or relating to Benaroya Hall.

The 430-car underground garage at Benaroya Hall provides direct access from the enclosed parking area into the Hall via elevators leading to The Boeing Company Gallery. Please note that entry into Benaroya Hall will be restricted to the 3rd Avenue elevators. The Artists Entrance is closed to non-musicians and staff.
- Enter the garage on Second Avenue, just south of Union Street.
- April & May 2021: Parking at Benaroya Hall will be complimentary for all patrons. No parking ticket or special voucher is required; simply drive to the gate and present your concert tickets from inside your vehicle window to the garage attendant.
- June 2021 and beyond: Make sure to have your prepaid parking pass ready to present to the garage attendant. To purchase a prepaid parking pass, or call our Ticket Office at 206.215.4747, Monday–Friday from 10am to 2pm.
- Maximum vehicle height is 6'8".
- Chargepoint charging stations are available for electric vehicles.
All upcoming in-person concerts will have reduced attendance, along with physical distancing of at least 6 feet between each household. For your safety and to maintain physical distancing, seats will be assigned to you upon your ticket reservation.
Here’s what to expect when you get to Benaroya Hall:
- Low- to no-touch concert experience with increased cleaning of all high-touch surfaces.
- Coat/Bag check services are closed. Bags and purses are not permitted.
- Ticket scanners will be placed at each entrance so you can self-scan your tickets.
- Restrooms have no-touch handwashing and will be cleaned and disinfected prior to and throughout the concert.
- Printed programs will not be distributed. Program and artist information will be emailed prior to the concert.
- Hand sanitizing stations will be placed throughout the Hall.
- When in the lobby, a 6-foot distance between you and other households is required at all times. Distancing markers will be placed throughout the Hall.
- No food & beverage services will be available at the Hall. All cafes, bars, drinking fountains and Symphonica, The Symphony Store are closed at this time.
- The Norcliffe Founders Room and Friends Lounge are temporarily closed.
- All pre-concert talks are suspended.
- In the concert hall, groups will be seated at least 6 feet from other audience members. Seat assignments have been made to ensure social distancing; do not sit in any seat except what is printed on your ticket. For those seated in the middle of a row, we ask that once seated, you make every effort to remain seated to avoid coming in contact with others in your row. Our distanced seating requirements may mean you won’t be sitting in your preferred Symphony seats.
- Concerts will be approximately one hour long with no intermission.
- Due to the video recording for live streaming purposes, once the concert has started, we ask that all patrons remain in their seats for the duration of the performance.
- Patrons who may experience an onset of flu-like symptoms while at the Hall will be expected to isolate from others and inform a member of the Benaroya Hall staff for follow-up.
- Feel free to applaud as you normally would at a performance!
- Ushers will guide patrons out of the auditorium section by section to avoid congestion in high-traffic areas. Please follow the directions on-site along with the guidance of ushers at the end of the performance. Please plan to remain in your seats for up to 15 minutes to allow safe egress.
