Founded in 1942, SYSO is one of the leading youth orchestra organizations in the United States. SYSO provides outstanding music education to more than 1,700 students a year and thrilling concerts for the public. In addition to the three concerts featuring our premier ensemble, Seattle Youth Symphony, SYSO’s up-and-coming young musicians will present their final concert of the season in the beautiful Benaroya Hall. SYSO’s newest orchestra, Prelude String Orchestra, will be joining Symphonette, Debut, and Junior Symphony Orchestra in these fun-filled concerts. It’s a wonderful experience to see what’s possible as SYSO’s youngest musicians take the stage with their excitements and passion!
The Art of Alzheimer’s presents ALZHEIMER’S TALKS - Perspectives and personal stories from Noteworthy Sources. A series of four compelling conversations with well-respected public figures sharing their perspectives and personal stories about aging, memory loss, caregiving and the positive power of creative expression. Presented in partnership with UW Medicine Memory and Brain Wellness Center.
Join us for a collaborative evening of performance as pianist Sarah Mahoney brings together students and friends for a night of music and festivities. Featured performers include pianist Dr. Dainius Vaičekonis, violinist Dana Wenzel, cellist Adrian Smith, and select students of Puget Sound Music Academy and Off the Wall School of Music. The evening's program will include Beethoven's Sonata in E Major Op. 109, selection from Mendelssohn's Piano Trio No. 1, and an assortment of modern works arranged by students.
